Charity and Community

Each year our employees nominate a different charity to support, this year we are proud to support Alzheimer's Society and will organise a number of community events through the year to raise funds.

We also hold an annual Day of Service where employees are invited to take part in community activities, volunteering their time to help out either with local community activities or for the charity of the year.

We are also a partner of Leicester Tigers Rugby Team and take part in their annual touch rugby tournament. Through our partnership with the Tigers we are also able to offer the Global Payments Healthy Schools programme for local primary schools.

Major Account Manager

I joined Global Payments back in 2010, where I started on the Customer Helpdesk Team, I spent around 5 years in this role where I developed strong card processing and industry knowledge. After moving to the Telesales Team for 2 years, there was the opportunity to join the Client Relationship Team, which was a step up but also a step into another customer service driven department which was perfect for me and my progression. After a year on the team I was given the opportunity to apply for the role as a Major Account Manager, to which I was successful and I’m currently relishing the role and the challenges it brings.

I joined Global Payments in 2012, I originally joined as a Temp, but within 6 months was offered a permanent role within the Sales Team. Over my time with the company I have been given numerous opportunities to grow and develop as an individual and have built a career after initially looking for a job. The company has facilitated my progress which shows in my job history, Telesales Rep, Telesales Team Leader, Telesales Team Manager to my current position as Inside Sales & Operations Manager. Global Payments recognises their staff and work with them to develop by continuously offering opportunities to progress.

Compliance Manager

I joined the company in 2005 and started off completing admin tasks within the Operational teams, this led to becoming team leader for two different teams. Through the different opportunities that have been available to me, I have gained further experience and skills through working in various departments and with individuals at different levels. I have now been part of the Compliance team for 2 years where I manage the monitoring programme and assist the business with meeting regulatory requirements. The support I have personally received from the different individuals and management has been tremendous and allowed me to get to where I am today.

My journey at Global Payments began in July 2018 soon after finishing my degree in Accounting and Finance. I started off on a temporary contract and within two months I was offered a permanent position. I have been a part of the team for just over a year now and recently I was given the opportunity to venture on my first business trip to Malta, which was an incredibly insightful experience. I am also currently working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant upon completion of my ACCA qualification. Global Payments has provided me with an exceptional study package and my team are very supportive in allowing me to progress through this qualification.

Andrew King

Senior Risk Manager

I joined the company in 2005 as a Telesales Agent in Leicester. I progressed to a Team Leader and led one of the telesales teams responsible for acquiring services. Soon after, I secured a promotion within the Operations Department, where I managed a number of large teams and developed my managerial skills further. After 4 years in this position, I felt I needed to gain a better understanding of the business so took a sideways move into project management and then another into Risk Management as a Fraud Investigator. I now head up the UK Risk Department and have been lucky enough to travel all over the world with my job. Throughout my career, I have been fully supported by the company and pushed to achieve my goals. There is a real community feel to the company and I have made some lifelong friends during my time here.

Joe Thorpe

Senior Product Manager - Terminal Estate

I joined Global Payments in May 2006, originally as a Telesales Agent progressing into the Inbound Support Team and was lucky enough to become Team Leader within the department. I was then given opportunities to move sideways across the business into the Inside Sales Team and the Corporate Client Services Team. Most recently, I was promoted into the Product Team as a Senior Product Manager. The role I currently complete is very diverse and allows me travel across the UK, working and meeting some great people along the way. The company continually supports staff and offers plenty of opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.

Educational Assistance

Our educational assistance program is designed to encourage you to enhance your knowledge and skills by helping to pay for costs of relevant development. Each application is assessed on an individual basis dependent on your role within Global Payments.

We provide a confidential service to support you with counselling and referral services, along with specific bereavement support services, if needed. The employee assistance support is confidential and available for all employees to use.

Health Assessments

All Band 4 Managers and above are eligible to receive a Complete Health Assessment once every five years to understand your overall health and identify future health risks.


We provide competitive holidays in addition to associated statutory holidays. Dependent on your role you could be entitled up to 30 days holiday per annum with a further 8 days for bank holidays. Further details are specified in your contract of employment.

Income Protection

Should you be unable to work for more than 52 or 26 weeks (subject to contract), subject to the insurers assessment, this insurance plan will pay out 75% of your base salary less state benefit for up to five years.

Medical Cover

We offer comprehensive private medical insurance for all managerial employees including their spouse and/or dependants.


We provide you with an opportunity to join the Pension Scheme, with the rules of the scheme being dependent upon your contract of employment.

Share Scheme

To encourage ownership in the company, we offer you the opportunity to purchase Global Payments Inc. shares at a reduced price, paid for through deductions from your salary.

Bonus Scheme

Working for us gives you the opportunity to earn an annual bonus. This is paid dependent on both company and individual performance.

Season Ticket Loan

We offer employees an interest free season ticket loan, if you travel to work by train or bus, which is repaid directly from your monthly pay.

Life Assurance

We provide you with life insurance. The level of cover is set at 3x base salary for all staff, increasing to 5x base salary for pension scheme members.

Sickness Entitlement

After six months employment with us, we will provide company sick pay whilst you are absent from work. The level of sickness payment will be dependent upon your contract of employment and also increases with length of service.

Spouse Lump Sum Payment

Should the worst happen, Global Payments will provide an 8 x base salary lump sum payable to your spouse or civil partner.
