Visa Consumer Credit and Prepaid Interchange Modifications

 

Effective with the October 2016 VisaNet Business Enhancements release, the consumer credit and prepaid Grocery industry rate program will be renamed the “Grocery and Food Retail” rate program. Visa will also adjust product-level interchange rates and expand the number of eligible merchant categories. The following merchants category codes (MCCs) will be eligible for the Grocery and Food Retail rate program:

 

  • 5411: Grocery Stores and Supermarkets
  • 5422: Freezer and Locker Meat Provisioners
  • 5432: Candy, Nuts and Confectionary Stores
  • 5451: Dairy Product Stores
  • 5462: Bakeries
