experience and partnerships with major equipment manufacturers.
Integrated solutions combine existing retailer equipment with
electronic funds transfer device into a single system, allowing
shorter check-out times and user comfort.
POSIS is a comprehensive outsourcing option
for this integrated solution. Payment application resides
on the central GPE server rather than the merchant outlet. Investment
costs are minimized for the retailer as no hardware payment
server is needed at the store. Furthermore no additional cabling
is required as POSIS uses the existing LAN
of the location. However, the retailer keeps full control
over the transactions through a web-based viewer over secured
https protocol.

Integrated solutions are available in the following modes:
- POSIS full outsourcing provides the
widest benefits. Application is moved to central GPE server
and the cost is minimized. Integrated solution couples existing
check-out device with PIN pad for secure chip card acceptance.
- POSIS stand-alone still uses payment
application outsourcing, but the payment device is a full
POS terminal with its control unit, magstripe reader, and
optional printer.
- Integrated solution without outsourcing option is also
available. Independent payment hardware is installed at
retailer server. This mode remains in our service range to
support the legacy installation and may be chosen in a special
case of any hardware limitation.
POSIS is fully integrated into GPE’s
acquiring services. This guarantees further transaction
processing, either at authorizations or during back-office
processing.
POSIS and integrated solutions are available
for all card associations. The range of accepted brands is
limited only by business reasons through the contract between
retailer and acquiring bank.
How It Works
- At implementation retail stores are examined by GPE specialists.
Project study is developed based on check-out devices used,
IT technology at the stores, and the communication options.
Upon approval, migration project is executed. If needed,
software for POS devices is updated. Communication between
payment device and check-out equipment is tested, so is
the transaction traffic between retail site and GPE processing
center.
- During operations the service is monitored by GPE technical
hot-line. Transactions executed at the points of sale are
captured, verified, and further processed based on acquirers’
requirements.
