EMV Migration
Global Payments Europe has a proven track record with migration
projects related to the transfer from magnetic stripe to chip
based payment cards. The company possesses all necessary certifications
from international card associations, and has acquired a deep
knowledge and hands-on experience related to all aspects of
the migration process. Global Payments Europe also provides
major banks in the Czech Republic with chip migration project
management and complex support, including production roll-out.

on the European market to comply with EMV international standards

Issuing
During the second half of 2002 and at the beginning of 2003
Global Payments Europe started preparation of the migration
projects for Komercni banka (Société Générale
Groupe) and CSOB (KBC Group). During the course of 2003 –
2005 Global Payments Europe completed migration projects for
two other major client banks and more projects are in the
pipeline.
Chip card products currently supported by Global Payments
Europe are:
- G&D
- Gemplus
- Oberthur
- Axalto/Schlumberger
- Austria Card
To date, Global Payments Europe has personalized almost 2
millions EMV cards. According to the client’s needs
these cards are equipped with large scale payment, loyalty
and identification applications.
Acquiring
EMV conversion of the POS terminal network (more than 9.000
POS terminals) serviced by Global Payments Europe took place
in 2003. The project included development, testing, certification
and installation of the most modern compatible software.
Currently, Global Payments Europe is upgrading its ATM network
for EMV cards with the first upgraded, EMV-compliant ATMs
launched in March 2005. The project also includes hardware
upgrades and development, testing, certification of compatible
software and its installation.
